Liquidators of Fine Merchandise

About-Us

bluepennylady has been in liquidations since before we were married. We (Dale & Judy Oglesby) use to spend our Friday night dates at a local liquidation store. We got hooked. Shortly after we were married in 1974, we went to work at that same store. 9 years later we opened our very own liquidation store in Baxter Springs, KS, known as “General Surplus” back then. In the spring of 1984, we opened the Columbus, Ks store in the old Big Smith garment factory. Within a couple of years we opened a second store in Galena, KS. We were located on Pine street in Columbus until July 30, 1991 when a fire set by burglars totally destroyed the newly remodeled building. Within a few weeks, we had acquired a new location, completely remodeled the building from top to bottom and were open for business by September 15, 1991. The residents of Columbus pulled together donating food, equipment, office space and good old country friendship while we remodeled. Teens from our church painted, scrubbed and laid carpet so we could open for business. We are still in the same location. We are true liquidators. What we have now we may never have again. Or next week another semi load may pull up to the dock. The products we offer come from all over the United States from various companies. Some are bankruptcies, Quitting business, Company’s moving, Central Distribution Center consolidations, Insurance claims, lost or damaged in Transit. You never know what you will find because we never know what we will get.
